「坡公曾暫遇，昌化至今稱」昌江文脈厚重，  一代文豪蘇軾曾多次遊歷至此，其腳蹤、詩文遍布境內的古邑名勝。昌江文化教育歷代傳承，據史料考證，始建於唐代的雙溪書院，至今已有1400年歷史，是海南島開化接受文明最早的地區之一。

Changjiang has a long history of culture, Su Shi, a literary giant of Song Dynasty, traveled here for many times, leaving his footprints and poetry throughout this county. The cultural education has been passed down through the ages in Changjiang. According to historical research, the ShuangxiAcade-my, which was founded in Tang Dynasty, has a history of 1,400 years, making Changjiang one of the earliest areas in Hainan Island to receive civilization from the Chinese mainland.
